The Rye Fire Department has taken delivery of three Industrial Scientific Ventis MX4 multi-gas meters along with the Calibration Station.

The Ventis MX4, which senses combustible gases, oxygen deficiency, carbon monoxide, and hydrogen sulfide, will provide readings and warnings to firefighters. Also, the new gas detectors will allow firefighters to evaluate carbon monoxide alarms in homes and buildings. Along with the meters, Rye FD has purchased a calibration station that allows them to recharge batteries, calibrate, and check the sensors in their meters on a timely basis in order to comply with all OSHA requirements.
