Scarsdale, NY FD Fire Fair

Continuing a 20 year tradition, AAA Emergency staff proudly attended the Scarsdale Fire Prevention fair as well as several other fire prevention fairs throughout Westchester and Greenwich during the month of October. The goal of these fire prevention fairs is to educate the public in preventing fires and other emergencies, and to encourage residents to be prepared for emergencies if they do occur.

The Scarsdale Fire Department has been holding this public event for 26 years, and this year the event was organized by Captain Allan Gleason. AAA Emergency, along with the Scarsdale Firefighters offered fire instruction and prevention education to the public. In addition, AAA Emergency had a booth set up with valuable emergency supplies such as smoke detectors and flashlights. Scarsdale firefighters, at the direction of Captain Gleason, also put on a demonstration for the public on how to best extinguish a stove top or grease fire.

Steve Rossi from AAA Emergency gave a follow up class on the “ABC’s” of fire extinguishers with the help of youngsters from the audience. The Mayor of Scarsdale, Ms. Miriam Levitt Flisser, participated by displaying her skills at extinguishing a stove top fire with an ABC fire extinguisher.

Thanks to Chief Thomas Cain, Captain Gleason, and the Scarsdale Fire Department for inviting AAA Emergency to this successful event!
