In March of 2014 Scott Safety received approvals on their 2013 edition NFPA compliant products. The NFPA 1981 and 1982, 2013 Editions brought some great improvements to the SCBA that Scott integrated into already great products. The Scott AP75, 2013 Edition SCBA offers customers all of the great features found on previous editions, including Heads Up Display and industry leading durability. Safety has been improved with the introduction of a 33% low air alarm.
Products like the new Scott X3 2013 Edition SCBA and the AV3000-HT were new products in 2014 which have built off of existing concepts which have been time tested in the fire service. The X3 SCBA provides customers with the proven technology found and expected in a Scott SCBA with sleek design improvements. Available in a snap connection, the X3 SCBA has been a welcomed replacement for the former NXG2 and NXG7 SCBA lines.
The AV3000-HT with Sureseal Technology provides firefighters and users with the most comfortable SCBA facepiece on the market while providing some of the highest fit testing fit factors. Over the course of October AAA Emergency participated in several fire prevention fairs throughout the area.
The Scarsdale FD fire fair, held on October 18th under the direction of Captain Seymour, Chief Cain, and the Scarsdale Volunteer Fire Companies was a huge success. The highlight of the day was the blazing demonstration of the pan fire when water came in contact with the flammable oil and grease. A talk on fire extinguishers and fire safety was given by Steve Rossi from AAA Emergency.
Carmel FD held their annual fire fair on September 28th. Along with a number of safety exhibits, there was a turnout gear try on for kids, a blow up jumping station, and fire extinguisher/smoke detector information offered by AAA Emergency.
One of the oldest and most successful fire fairs was held at the Croton FD on October 5th. After completing a number of safety stations, kids were able to get the never ending thrill of riding a fire truck. AAA Emergency staff worked with kids to explain the A-B-C’s of fire protection during the demonstration provided by AAA Emergency.
Effective December 31, 2014 parts and service for the Scott Scout Multi-Gas Meter will no longer be available. The Scott Scout has been discontinued and replacement sensors will no longer be available. Customers currently operating with the Scott Scout Multi-Gas meter have a few options.
AAA Emergency Supply is now a proud distributor of GMI Gas Detection Products. For a comparable user experience to the Scott Scout, customers can look to the GMI PS200 Series of multi-gas detectors. The PS200 is a complete field repairable unit offering four gas detection with three sensors. The PS200 can be configured to detect a combination of Methane, Oxygen, Carbon Monoxide, Hydrogen Sulfide, as well as other flammable gases. In addition, the PS200 offers seven different colored rubber boot housings for easy identification and added durability. Alternatively, the proven and time tested Industrial Scientific Ventis MX4 Multi-Gas Meter is also available through AAA Emergency. The MX4 is being utilized by numerous fire and public works agencies throughout the tri-state area and has shown its effectiveness and durability time and time again. The MX4 monitors up to four gases and can be configured with a pump. Available in a black or orange overmold, the MX4 provides true portability in multi-gas protection in a compact package.
For the first time ever ALL Westchester County Fire Departments and agencies are utilizing the dependability of Scott Safety SCBA. AAA Emergency is proud to announce that we have delivered and performed in-service training with the Mount Kisco Fire Department’s Mutual Engine and Hose Company.
Mutual Engine and Hose has taken delivery of Scott X3 4.5 SCBA with the state-of-the-art Scott AV3000 HT Facepiece. The Scott X3 SCBA was introduced as an alternate option 2013 Edition SCBA to the Scott AP75. The X3 meets or exceeds all requirements of the NFPA 1981 and 1982 as outlined in the 2013 Edition. Scott took end-user feedback and redesigned the frame and component layout. While it may look different than the Scott Pak we have come to know, it incorporates all the same proven and industry leading technologies.
Included in the X3 is the same dual stage redundant pressure reducing assembly with proven options such as the Ez-Flo Plus Regulator with Heads Up Display, Rapid Intervention Connection, and a redesigned Gauge and Control Console Assembly.
The Air-Pak X3 SCBA improves comfort through new shoulder strap designs, better weight management, and improved hose and wire management resulting in the most streamlined SCBA on the market. Used in conjunction with the redesigned AV3000 HT, the firefighters in Mount Kisco Mutual Engine and Hose will be sure to have the finest in firefighting technologies.
The Brookfield Fire Company, Candlewood Fire Company, and Water Witch Hose Company in Brookfield and New Milford CT have taken delivery of 89 Scott AP75 2013 Edition SCBA. As part of a 2012 Grant Award, the three companies teamed up to ensure their personnel were receiving the highest quality SCBA on the market.
The 2013 Scott AP75 SCBA is the first Scott SCBA to feature a 33% low air alarm (EOSTI) as one of the latest new safety features detailed in the latest NFPA 1981 standard. In addition to the new SCBA, the three fire companies have also taken delivery of new 45 minute 4500 PSI Scott Cylinders with custom logos and state-of-the-art Scott AV3000-HT facepieces with the Epic 3 Voice Amplifiers included.

The Milford, CT Fire Department has chosen AAA Emergency to provide its personnel with the RIT Emergency Egress Systems and training. The leaders of the Milford FD selected to participate in our industry leading Train-the Trainer program, to educate a select group of personnel and officers in the proper use, function, safety and teaching objectives in performing bailout training.
In July AAA Emergency spent a full day with members from their department who will now begin to train the remainder of the department on the use of this potentially lifesaving tool. Kudos to the leadership of the Milford FD for investing in bailout systems for their manpower before governmental mandates have been established.
